Both teams, as per a statement, battled hard throughout the contest, producing an evenly matched encounter as they looked to secure their first victory of the campaign.
Stephen put Swift Strikers FC Rainawari on the scoresheet, while Furqaan scored for New JK United FC as both sides found the net once to share the spoils in the second half.
The two teams continued to push for a decisive goal, but neither could break the deadlock for a second time, with the match eventually ending 1-1.
The result saw both New JK United FC and Swift Strikers FC Rainawari collect a point from their opening fixture of the tournament.
Competitive start to KSL Season 2
The match continued the competitive start to the second edition of the franchise-based league, which has seen closely fought contests in its opening fixtures.
The six-team tournament features United Elegant FC, Aqua Kashmir Avengers FC, Athwas India XI FC, Sanctorum North United FC, New JK United FC and Swift Strikers FC Rainawari, all competing for the KSL Season 2 crown.
The franchises finalised their squads through a player bidding process that witnessed the participation of around 200 footballers, providing local players with an opportunity to compete on a franchise-based platform.
With another closely contested fixture ending all square, the battle for points has begun in earnest as the six teams look to establish themselves in the race for the KSL title.
