SED seeks objections, suggestions for draft RReT transfer policy-2026

Srinagar, Sep 04: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has invited objections and suggestions from stakeholders on the Draft Jammu and Kashmir Regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers (RReTs) Transfer Policy-2026.

The draft policy has proposed a transparent, equitable and need-based framework for transfers of teachers covered under the category.

According to a public notice issued by the department, the proposed policy seeks to rationalise teacher transfers and address staffing imbalances while promoting administrative efficiency and professional mobility.

The draft also provides for compassionate and security-related considerations in transfers and aims to ensure optimum utilisation of teaching resources while safeguarding students’ interests and protecting the rights and entitlements of General Line Teachers (GLTs).

The department has invited views, objections and suggestions from all concerned stakeholders before finalising and formally notifying the policy.

Stakeholders have been asked to submit their objections or suggestions in writing within seven days from the date of publication of the notice, along with their name, designation, address and contact details.

“The submissions can also be sent to the department through its official email address mentioned in the notice,” reads a public notice, issued by SED.

The School Education Department has said the complete draft policy would be made available on its official website for stakeholders to examine.

“It has further clarified that objections or suggestions received after the expiry of the stipulated seven-day period would not be entertained,” it reads.

The department has also reserved the right to accept or reject any suggestion or objection without assigning reasons, citing the larger interests of administration and public service.
