Education Minister to introduce assembly resolution on TET issue



Srinagar, Sep 5: Education Minister, Sakina Itoo Saturday said that the government will introduce a resolution in legislative assembly against the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
 
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the minister said, “The matter of TeT is pending with the supreme court and Jammu and Kashmir Education department is continuously approaching the apex court wherein we are seeking reconsideration of the decision.”
 
She said, “The teachers of J&K are mentally disturbed with regard to this matter and with this constant issue they cannot teach the students with full concentration.”
 
“Our teachers are preparing lakhs of students for exams and they are efficient enough to qualify any test but as far the TeT is concerned, it isn’t a matter of test only but the respect and dignity of the teachers,” the minister said.
 
Itoo said, “The respect of teachers is important for the government and to keep their integrity, we will introduce a resolution in upcoming legislative assembly and will pass it so that the teachers will come out of this disturbances”.
