BARAMULLA, OCT 27: Reinforcing the message of national unity, communal harmony and social cohesion, Baramulla Police organised a ‘Run for Unity’ through Police Station Baramulla to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, bringing together students, youth club members and local residents in a collective effort to promote peace, brotherhood and national integration.
The event was flagged off by DySP Headquarters Baramulla from St. Joseph’s School, with participants proceeding towards Azad Gunj Chowk before returning to the starting point. The enthusiastic participation of students from various schools, members of youth clubs and local residents reflected the importance of community involvement in strengthening the bonds of unity and mutual understanding.
The initiative sought to spread awareness about the significance of national integration and encourage citizens, particularly young people, to uphold the values of unity in diversity, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence. The programme also highlighted the role of the younger generation in fostering a harmonious society and countering divisions through constructive engagement and shared civic responsibility.
The run provided a platform for students and local youth to express solidarity with the ideals of national unity while strengthening their engagement with the police and the wider community. Upon the conclusion of the event, participation certificates were distributed among the participants, followed by refreshments.
