AWANTIPORA, OCT 29: As part of the ongoing Police Flag Day Week observances, Awantipora Police organised a series of programmes in Sub-Division Pampore to honour police martyrs, remember their supreme sacrifices and reaffirm its commitment to the welfare of their families.
As part of the initiative, police officers visited the native villages and towns of police martyrs and interacted with their family members to express solidarity and enquire about their well-being. During the visits, officers listened to the concerns and grievances raised by the families and assured them of all possible assistance and timely redressal of their genuine issues.
The outreach programme highlighted the police force’s commitment to standing by the families of personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The interactions also provided an opportunity for officers to acknowledge the sacrifices made by the martyrs’ families and reaffirm the department’s continued support for them.
In a gesture of remembrance and respect, portraits of the martyrs were displayed in the respective primary schools where they had received their early education. Floral tributes were offered to honour their courage, dedication and service to the nation.
The programmes also focused on familiarising students and members of the local community with the contributions of police martyrs. By recalling their lives and sacrifices in the institutions where their educational journeys began, the initiative sought to inspire younger generations with the values of patriotism, courage, discipline and selfless public service.
The observances underscored the importance of preserving the legacy of police personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while discharging their professional responsibilities. The initiative also sought to strengthen police-public relations through community engagement and continued interaction with the families of fallen personnel.
Awantipora Police reiterated its resolve to honour the memory of its martyrs and extend support to their families, emphasising that their sacrifices would continue to be remembered with pride, respect and gratitude. The programmes formed part of the wider Police Flag Day Week celebrations aimed at paying tribute to fallen personnel and reinforcing the enduring values of courage, sacrifice and service.
