BARAMULLA, SEPT 22: J&K Police Baramulla, in coordination with security and emergency response agencies, conducted a terror incident response mock drill at Main Market, Uri, to assess and strengthen preparedness for any potential security emergency.
The exercise put the focus on rapid response, inter-agency coordination, emergency communication and information-sharing, besides evacuation and rescue operations, medical response, casualty evacuation, crowd management and traffic regulation.
The functioning and coordination of Quick Reaction Teams and other emergency response teams were also assessed during the drill to evaluate their ability to respond swiftly and effectively during a simulated crisis.
The exercise brought together Police, Security Forces, Medical Teams, Fire & Emergency Services and Civil Administration, providing an opportunity to assess existing response arrangements, identify operational gaps and further streamline coordination among different agencies.
The mock drill underscored the importance of maintaining swift, coordinated and well-rehearsed emergency response mechanisms to minimise risks and ensure the safety of civilians during any unforeseen security situation.
J&K Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining a robust emergency response system and strengthening preparedness to safeguard public safety and security.
