SAMBA, SEPT 22: Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Anuj Kumar, has directed all supervisory officers and field formations to intensify crime control, fast-track investigations and ensure strict action against absconding accused, habitual offenders, traffic violators and illegal mining during a high-level crime review meeting at DPO Samba.
The SSP reviewed the district’s crime situation with SHOs, police post in-charges and investigating officers, taking stock of pending investigations, major cases, NDPS cases, crimes against women and children, property offences, implementation of New Criminal Laws and compliance with the prescribed 60/90-day investigation timelines.
Issuing clear directions on investigation disposal, SSP Samba ordered officers to complete probes within the stipulated time and submit challans without avoidable delay.
Investigating officers were also directed to intensify efforts to trace absconding accused and missing persons and ensure that history sheets and personal files of criminals and habitual offenders are opened wherever warranted, followed by regular surveillance.
On absconding accused, the SSP directed officers to secure non-bailable warrants from competent courts and proceed with proclamation proceedings and property attachment wherever warranted under law.
He also called for strict enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Act and sustained action against traffic violations and illegal mining activities across the district.
The meeting also focused on strengthening preventive policing and leveraging technology for crime detection, investigation, surveillance and public service delivery.
Officers were directed to ensure effective supervision of cases and maintain close monitoring of crime trends at the field level.
Concluding the review, SSP Anuj Kumar stressed professional investigation, accountability and transparency, directing officers to respond promptly to public grievances and strictly adhere to departmental instructions while maintaining the highest standards of discipline.
