The seizure amounts to 2.5 litres of banned syrup, making the operation a significant interception of a pharmaceutical substance being allegedly transported outside legitimate medical channels.

Following the recovery, FIR Number 243/2026 has been registered at Police Station Qazigund under Sections 8/21-29 of the NDPS Act. The case has been taken up for investigation to establish the source of the seized substance, identify its intended destination and trace possible links with a broader network involved in the transportation and distribution of controlled substances.

The investigation is also expected to examine the movement of the vehicle and the role of the arrested persons in the alleged supply chain.

The Qazigund Police action underscores the importance of highway naka checking in disrupting the movement of narcotic substances between Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that sustained surveillance, checking and intelligence-based operations would continue to identify and dismantle networks involved in the illegal drug trade.
