BHANU, OCT 14: In a remarkable display of sporting excellence, determination and teamwork, the Border Security Force (BSF) Women’s Team clinched the Gold Medal at the 3rd All India Police Handball Cluster, defeating Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 25–22 in a fiercely contested final at the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Campus, Bhanu.
The triumph marks a significant milestone for the BSF women’s team, which was raised in 2025 and, within barely a year of its formation, emerged as champions at the prestigious national-level police sporting event. The achievement reflects the players’ relentless hard work, rigorous training, unwavering determination and exceptional coordination on the field.
Facing a formidable SSB side in the final, the BSF players demonstrated remarkable attacking strength, defensive resilience and composure under pressure. Their coordinated gameplay, timely scoring and crucial saves proved decisive in securing the 25–22 victory and bringing home the coveted gold medal.
The achievement is particularly noteworthy given the team’s short journey since its raising. In a brief period, the Mahila Seema Praharis have demonstrated how disciplined preparation, professional coaching, perseverance and collective commitment can translate into success at the highest level of competitive police sports.
Every goal reflected the team’s determination to prevail, while every save highlighted the players’ fighting spirit and commitment to their collective objective. Their performance in the final showcased not only technical proficiency but also the mental strength and team cohesion required to overcome a challenging opponent in a high-stakes contest.
Congratulating the players on their outstanding accomplishment, the Director General of the BSF and the entire Seema Prahari Parivar extended their heartfelt congratulations and compliments to the team, coaches and support staff. The achievement was hailed as a moment of pride for the force and recognition of the dedication invested in developing the newly raised squad.
The gold-medal victory also highlights the importance of promoting women’s participation in competitive sports and providing personnel with opportunities to demonstrate their capabilities beyond their professional duties. The team’s success serves as an inspiration for women in uniform and aspiring sportspersons, reinforcing the values of discipline, courage, perseverance and excellence.
With this emphatic victory over SSB, the BSF Women’s Team has made an impressive mark on the national police sporting stage, adding a proud achievement to the force’s sporting legacy and demonstrating that determination and teamwork can deliver remarkable results, even within a short period of preparation and development.
