SANKOO, OCT 23: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pawan Kumar, formally assumed charge as the first police chief of the newly established Sankoo district, marking a significant milestone in the region’s administrative and security framework following its elevation to district status.
Pawan Kumar received a warm welcome upon his arrival, with the reception attended by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo, government officials, representatives of political parties, religious and social organisations, and members of the local community. The gathering reflected public expectations for a stronger and more accessible policing system in the newly established district.
With the appointment of its first SSP, Sankoo is poised to strengthen its dedicated policing mechanism, improve law enforcement and enhance public safety. The establishment of a separate police administration is expected to facilitate a more focused response to local security challenges and improve coordination between the police and civil administration.
Interacting with the media, SSP Pawan Kumar outlined his key priorities, placing particular emphasis on curbing drug abuse, preventing criminal activities and strengthening the overall policing infrastructure. He underscored the importance of developing effective policing arrangements to ensure better public service delivery and a responsive law enforcement system.
The newly appointed SSP also reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the security concerns of local residents and maintaining peace, public order and stability across the district.
His assumption of charge comes at a crucial juncture for Sankoo, with residents looking towards the newly established district administration to deliver improved security arrangements, stronger grassroots policing and greater public confidence in law enforcement.
