Anantnag, Oct 17: In a remarkable achievement for Government Nursing College, GMC Anantnag, two nursing graduates from the 2021 batch have qualified the AIIMS NORCET-11 (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test) conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Seerat Yousuf, a resident of Pahroo, Nowgam, secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 208. Her performance places her among the top nursing candidates in the country.

Noorul Ain, a resident of Chadoora, Budgam, also made the region proud by securing AIR 1749. A nursing graduate from GMC Anantnag, she has demonstrated that dedicated preparation and institutional support can yield success at the national level.

Both candidates belong to the 2021 batch of the Nursing College at GMC Anantnag, which has steadily built a reputation for producing competent nursing professionals despite being a new institution.

NORCET is a competitive computer-based test conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi, for the recruitment of nursing officers across AIIMS institutions and other central government hospitals. Securing ranks such as AIR 208 and 1749 reflects the candidates’ performance and the role of nursing education and mentorship.

Faculty members at GMC Anantnag’s Nursing College recalled both students as hardworking and focused.

“Seerat and Noorul’s success is a reflection of their resilience and our department’s commitment to academic excellence and mentorship,” the faculty members said.

For years, nursing graduates from Kashmir have aspired to work at AIIMS and other central institutions but have often lacked guidance and exposure. Achievements such as these boost the morale of nursing students across J&K, highlight the need for better coaching, libraries and career counselling in nursing colleges, and showcase GMC Anantnag’s growing role in nursing education.

The Principal, GMC Anantnag, and the Nursing College administration congratulated the qualifiers and wished them success in their future careers.
