ANANTNAG, OCT 29: Anantnag Police organised a martyrs’ exhibition at Government Degree College (GDC), Khanabal, and a Run for Unity at Aishmuqam as part of the ongoing observance of Police Commemoration Day and Police Flag Day, highlighting the sacrifices of police personnel and promoting the values of national integration, communal harmony and brotherhood among the youth.

The exhibition at GDC Khanabal showcased the courage, dedication and supreme sacrifices of Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The initiative sought to familiarise students and members of the public with the contributions of police martyrs in maintaining peace, protecting lives and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

Through the exhibition, Anantnag Police aimed to strengthen public awareness about the challenges faced by police personnel while discharging their duties and to inspire younger generations with the ideals of courage, discipline, patriotism and selfless service. The initiative also provided an opportunity to remember the martyrs whose sacrifices continue to be associated with the force’s commitment to safeguarding society.

In a parallel initiative, Police Station Aishmuqam organised a Run for Unity, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various schools. The programme focused on fostering a sense of togetherness, mutual respect and national integration among students, while encouraging them to embrace the values of unity and collective responsibility.

The participation of schoolchildren underscored the importance of engaging young people in community-oriented activities that promote harmony, discipline and social cohesion. The run also conveyed a message of solidarity and brotherhood, emphasising the role of youth in strengthening the bonds that unite society.

Both initiatives formed part of Anantnag Police’s efforts to commemorate its fallen personnel while connecting with students and the wider community through educational and participatory activities. By combining remembrance with youth engagement, the programmes highlighted the importance of honouring the sacrifices of police martyrs and passing on their legacy of service and dedication to future generations.

Through these activities, Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to honouring the supreme sacrifices of its personnel and promoting patriotism, unity, peace and public service, while encouraging greater awareness and participation among the younger generation.
