ANANTNAG, SEPT 13: In a major night crackdown on illegal transportation of minor minerals, Anantnag Police seized 12 tractors and two tippers during checking conducted across the district in the intervening night.
The vehicles were found allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of minor minerals and were taken into custody under relevant provisions of law.
FIRs have been registered at different police stations, and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
Police said investigations are underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the violations and identify other persons involved in the illegal activity.
Anantnag Police reiterated its firm resolve to curb illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals, warning that vehicles found involved in such violations will face strict action under law.
