The General Body Meeting of the J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association was held at Rajbagh Srinagar with the participation of members and representatives of the Association.
The main objective of the meeting, as per a statement issued, was to discuss and initiate necessary amendments to the Constitution of the Association in accordance with the prevailing Sports Code along with matters concerning the development and promotion of water sports across Jammu & Kashmir.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the following important matters:
Amendment of the Association Constitution in accordance with the latest Sports Code and applicable guidelines, Review of the Association’s activities and future water sports development programmes, Strengthening and activation of district units across Jammu & Kashmir, Planning of district-level activities, competitions and athlete development programmes, Strengthening the grassroots structure to provide greater opportunities to young athletes, Coordination between the district units and affiliated members for the systematic development of kayaking and canoeing, Discussion on the upcoming district championships and selection activities. Ensuring greater participation of athletes from different districts in state and national-level competitions.
The members emphasized that a strong and properly structured district network is essential for identifying young talent and creating a sustainable pathway for athletes from the grassroots level to national and international competitions.
The Association reiterated its commitment to transparent functioning, implementation of the Sports Code, development of district units and promotion of kayaking and canoeing throughout Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to further strengthen the Association and create better opportunities and facilities for athletes, coaches and young water-sports enthusiasts across the Union Territory.
