JAMMU, SEPT 9: Continuing its sustained drive against the illegal serving and consumption of liquor at public places, Bishnah Police has taken prompt legal action against an individual allegedly involved in serving liquor unlawfully at an eating establishment.

Acting on reliable information, a police team from PS Bishnah conducted a raid at a food/eating establishment located near the BDO Office, Bishnah.

During the operation, the proprietor, identified as Vicky Kumar, son of Ram Krishan, resident of Ward No. 09, Bishnah, District Jammu, was allegedly found serving liquor illegally to persons at the establishment.

Following the action, FIR Number 168/2026 under Section 50-A of the Excise Act was registered at Police Station Bishnah. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Bishnah Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining public order and a safe and peaceful environment for citizens. Police warned that strict legal action will be taken against persons found involved in the illegal serving or consumption of liquor at public places.

The enforcement drive against such unlawful activities will continue across the area, police said.
