BARAMULLA, SEPT 9: J&K Police in Baramulla has intensified traffic enforcement measures in Gulmarg as part of its ongoing efforts to promote road safety, ensure traffic discipline and curb violations.

During the period from September 1 to 7, 2026, Police Station Gulmarg took action against 22 vehicles found involved in various traffic violations. The vehicles were seized or challaned under the prescribed legal provisions.

The enforcement drive is aimed at promoting responsible driving and safer road use, particularly in Gulmarg, which witnesses heavy tourist and vehicular movement.

Police urged motorists to strictly follow traffic regulations, carry valid vehicle documents, avoid rash and negligent driving, and use seat belts and helmets wherever applicable.

Motorists were also advised to cooperate with police personnel deployed for traffic management.

Police reiterated that strict action will continue against traffic violations and called upon residents, tourists and visitors to treat traffic discipline as a shared responsibility.

The drive underscores the police commitment to ensuring safe roads, disciplined traffic movement and a secure environment for commuters and tourists in the Gulmarg area.
