SRINAGAR, OCT 4: Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited a Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed in South Kashmir and reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness in the region.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the prevailing security environment and the operational activities being undertaken by the troops. He interacted with personnel and commended them for their professionalism, operational excellence and commitment to assigned responsibilities.
The Army Commander stressed the need for relentless vigilance, sustained operational readiness and close synergy among all stakeholders to effectively address emerging security challenges and maintain a stable security environment in the region.
He also emphasised the importance of maintaining a high level of preparedness while continuing to uphold the commitment of the security forces towards peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
The visit assumes significance amid continued efforts by security forces to maintain a robust security grid in South Kashmir. The interaction with frontline troops also provided an opportunity to assess operational preparedness and reinforce the importance of coordinated efforts in meeting evolving security requirements.
Lt Gen Sharma’s visit reaffirmed the Army’s focus on professional conduct, operational effectiveness, inter-agency coordination and sustained vigilance in support of peace and security in the region.
