JAMMU, OCT 19: Jammu and Kashmir BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma on Monday called for stronger coordination among the party’s Print Media, Social Media and IT Departments, emphasising that timely, consistent and fact-based communication is essential to strengthening organisational outreach, addressing misinformation and effectively conveying the party’s policies and achievements to the public.

Chairing a coordination meeting at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Sharma reviewed the functioning of the three departments and stressed the need for a unified communication strategy capable of responding swiftly to emerging political developments while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and consistency across platforms.

Highlighting the growing importance of media in contemporary politics, Sharma said communication was not merely a means of disseminating information but also an important instrument for public engagement, shaping political discourse and strengthening democratic participation. He stressed that the party must adopt a proactive and coordinated approach to ensure that information about the policies, developmental initiatives and public welfare programmes of the Narendra Modi-led government reaches all sections of society.

Sharma called for seamless coordination among the three departments, noting that print media, social media and information technology each play distinct but complementary roles in the party’s communication framework. While print media remains an important channel for engaging journalists and communicating political positions, social media enables rapid outreach to wider audiences, and IT infrastructure facilitates content management, digital coordination and efficient information delivery.

Appreciating the efforts of the departmental teams, the BJP president directed them to further improve coordination, enhance the quality and timeliness of content, strengthen engagement with journalists and upgrade the presentation of digital material. He also emphasised the need for prompt, factual responses to politically significant developments and consistency in the party’s messaging across different communication platforms.

He urged the teams to focus on issues affecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir, highlight the benefits of development and welfare schemes, and communicate the party’s stated commitment to nationalism, good governance and inclusive growth. He stressed that effective communication must be supported by verifiable facts, ground realities and documented achievements to maintain credibility and public confidence.

The meeting was attended by BJP Vice Presidents Priya Sethi and Rekha Mahajan; General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan; Treasurer Prabhat Singh Jamwal; Secretary Reema Padha; Media In-charge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra; Social Media In-charge Dr. Makson Tikkoo; IT In-charge Gaurav Balgotra; spokespersons Balbir Ram Rattan, Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu and Vikram Malhotra; and party functionaries Sanjay Bakshi, Naveen Sharma and Rohin Chandan.

The meeting focused on improving interdepartmental coordination, strengthening digital communication capabilities and ensuring a more integrated approach to the party’s media engagement and organisational outreach across Jammu and Kashmir.
