JAMMU, OCT 19: Jammu and Kashmir BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma on Monday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat as a powerful platform for public engagement, grassroots participation and nation-building, urging party leaders and workers to take its message to every household through intensified booth-level mobilisation.
Chairing an organisational review meeting at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Sat Sharma said the programme had created a unique platform for highlighting the achievements, innovations and inspiring contributions of ordinary citizens, bringing grassroots initiatives into the national spotlight and encouraging people to participate in the country’s development.
He said Mann Ki Baat had evolved beyond a conventional radio broadcast by connecting people through positive thinking, shared responsibility and public participation. According to Sharma, the programme highlights individuals and communities making meaningful contributions in entrepreneurship, sports, environmental conservation, innovation and social service, inspiring others, particularly young people, to transform ideas into action.
Emphasising the importance of recognising unsung achievers, Sharma said the Prime Minister’s initiative had reinforced the role of grassroots efforts in building a stronger and more self-reliant India. He called upon BJP workers to communicate these inspiring stories effectively and encourage greater public participation in the programme.
Calling for intensified booth-level mobilisation, Sharma directed party leaders and workers to ensure wider participation in every broadcast of Mann Ki Baat. He stressed that listening sessions should extend beyond formal gatherings and become opportunities for meaningful interaction with residents, identifying local achievers and encouraging community-level initiatives inspired by the programme.
He maintained that the party’s organisational strength must be reflected in sustained public engagement, effective communication and a responsive approach towards people’s aspirations and concerns. He also underscored the need to strengthen the connection between the programme’s messages and local initiatives so that its emphasis on public participation translates into constructive action at the grassroots level.
The meeting also reviewed recently concluded organisational programmes and preparations for upcoming activities, with particular emphasis on coordination, timely execution and strengthening the BJP’s organisational network across Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by BJP Vice Presidents Priya Sethi, Rajiv Charak, Rakesh Mahajan and Rekha Mahajan; General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan; MLAs Balwant Singh Mankotia and Devyani Rana; Treasurer Prabhat Singh Jamwal; Secretaries Reema Padha, Arun Sharma and Pawan Sharma; Mahila Morcha President Neha Mahajan; In-charge of Publicity Materials and Literature Varinderjit Singh; spokesperson Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia; and other party functionaries.
The deliberations focused on strengthening organisational coordination, expanding grassroots outreach and ensuring that the party’s public engagement activities remain connected with local communities across the Union Territory.
