ANANTNAG, OCT 16: Intensifying its crackdown on drug trafficking and the financial assets linked to narcotics-related activities, Anantnag Police has attached a double-storey residential house valued at approximately ₹50 lakh belonging to Bashir Ahmad Dar, son of Late Habibullah Dar, a resident of Gadhangipora, Bijbehara, under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The attachment marks another action by the police to target the financial assets of individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking. The property was attached under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act as part of ongoing efforts to identify and act against assets suspected to be linked to illicit drug-related activities.

According to the police, the individual is involved in multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Bijbehara. These include FIR Numbers 83/2023, 216/2024, 139/2025 and 241/2025, reflecting the multiple narcotics-related cases cited in connection with the action.

Through such measures, Anantnag Police is focusing not only on legal action against alleged drug traffickers but also on the financial networks and properties suspected to be associated with proceeds of illicit activities. Property attachment under the NDPS Act is intended to help prevent the concealment or transfer of assets covered by the law.

Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to sustaining action against drug trafficking and dismantling the financial infrastructure supporting the narcotics trade. The police also emphasized that identifying and attaching properties linked to illicit drug-related activities remains an important component of its broader efforts to combat the drug menace in the district.

The action underscores the continuing focus of Anantnag Police on targeting the financial assets of alleged drug traffickers alongside conventional enforcement measures.
