NEW DELHI, SEPT 22: The Indian Army marked its first-ever Kaushal Diwas, celebrating the successful rollout of Project Kaushalveer, a skilling-cum-certification initiative aimed at equipping Agniveers and Regular Soldiers with industry-recognised skills and pathways for further education.
The event was chaired by Lieutenant General Vipul Shinghal, DCOAS (IS&T), and attended by Professor Uma Kanjilal, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU, and Professor Akhilesh Mishra, Chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
The occasion also witnessed the release of the Project Kaushalveer Compendium and NIOS Precis, besides the presentation of Secondary and Senior Secondary certificates to the first batch of Agniveers.
Project Kaushalveer seeks to strengthen the professional and educational prospects of Army personnel by providing them with recognised skills and certification that can support their career progression during and beyond military service.
The initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to its “Yoddha First” approach and forms part of its broader transformative vision of “JAI se VIJAY”, aimed at empowering soldiers with skills and opportunities for the future.
