BARAMULLA, SEPT 30: Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi has scripted a new chapter in J&K cricket after making his international debut for India in the second ODI against the West Indies.
The right-arm pacer was named in India’s playing XI and received his maiden India cap from senior batter KL Rahul ahead of the match, marking a landmark moment in his career.
Known as the “Baramulla Express,” Nabi earned his place in the national side following an impressive run in domestic cricket and county cricket. His elevation to the international stage marks another significant milestone for Jammu and Kashmir’s cricketing fraternity.
With his debut, Nabi becomes only the third cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to represent India at the international level, joining Parvez Rasool and Umran Malik in the select group.
Nabi’s international debut is being seen as a significant moment for aspiring cricketers across J&K, particularly for young fast bowlers looking to make their mark on the national stage.
