REASI, SEPT 17: Banganga Police has initiated legal action against a pony handler for allegedly operating on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra track without a valid ID/registration card.

An FIR Number 292/2026 under Section 223(a) BNS has been registered against Rahul Kumar, son of Sham Lal, resident of Ward Number 09, Arli Hansali, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, after he was found operating without the mandatory identification/registration card.

Police said the action was taken to enforce the prescribed regulations for pony operators and ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims undertaking the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra.

Banganga Police has warned all pony operators and handlers to carry valid registration/ID cards while operating on the Yatra Track, making it clear that violations will invite strict legal action.

The police said enforcement will continue to ensure safe, disciplined and smooth movement of pilgrims along the track.
