The Budgam district administration launched the ‘Nayonika Child Vision’ initiative to ensure primary eye screening of around 1.67 lakh children across the district, with the project aiming to make Budgam the first district in India to undertake comprehensive eye screening of all government schoolchildren.
As per a statement, Nayonika Child Vision – an initiative of the Budgam District Administration and Nayonika Eye Care Charitable Trust with ReRoot Foundation – aims to enrich Government school children and will benefit 1.67 lakh children from 917 Government schools.
The project has been successfully implemented in the states of Karnataka and Pondicherry by Nayonika Eye Care Charitable Trust.
The project will create mass eye health awareness with Vision Walls, support of good quality spectacles, and Alcon lenses for surgeries, if needed.
Goal is to ensure each and every child is screened for eye problems( primary eye screening ) and September 11-2026 training for teachers launched by DC Athar Amir khan – IAS.
Next Phase followed by support of Free Spectacles for all Children. Project to be in perpetual mode so that services to needy is never stopped.
