DODA, SEPT 12: With the focus on youth empowerment and career guidance, District Police Doda organised a career counselling programme at Government Degree College (GDC) Doda, guiding students on higher education, competitive examinations, skill development and career opportunities in uniformed services.
The programme, organised under the theme “Right Guidance, Brighter Future,” featured interactive sessions by DySP Tahzeeb Zehra Jawaid, representing District Police Doda, Major Dinesh Kumar of 10 RR and Assistant Commandant Raj Pal of 33 Bn CRPF.
The officers briefed students about various career avenues, recruitment opportunities, eligibility requirements, competitive examinations and professional prospects. They encouraged young aspirants to identify their individual strengths and interests, set realistic career goals and pursue them with discipline, consistency and determination.
Particular emphasis was laid on opportunities in the J&K Police, Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The speakers also urged students to explore higher education, professional courses and other emerging career avenues while making informed choices based on their aptitude and interests.
The speakers stressed that education, skill development, physical fitness, self-confidence and personality development are crucial for succeeding in an increasingly competitive environment. Students were encouraged to remain focused, prepare systematically and develop the confidence required to face competitive examinations and professional challenges.
The programme also featured an interactive question-and-answer session, with students raising queries regarding recruitment procedures, eligibility, competitive examinations, career options and preparation strategies. The participating officers addressed their concerns and provided practical guidance.
Dr. Javed Iqbal Zargar, Principal, GDC Doda, along with faculty members, staff and students, attended the programme and appreciated District Police Doda’s initiative to connect with the student community and provide meaningful career counselling and motivation.
The initiative highlighted District Police Doda’s continued emphasis on constructive youth engagement, with such outreach programmes aimed at equipping young people with awareness, confidence and direction to make informed career decisions and emerge as productive and responsible citizens.
