Srinagar, Sep 28: EMERGE 2026 — Connecting J&K concluded in Srinagar on Sunday, bringing together entrepreneurs, startups, businesses, industry stakeholders, artisans, innovators and members of the wider business community on a common platform.
The three-day event, supported by the Government of Gujarat and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, with the support of the Department of Tourism, Kashmir and the University of Kashmir, provided a platform for business networking, entrepreneurship, innovation, exhibitions, cultural showcases and interaction among diverse stakeholders.
The event was driven by the vision of Imran Shah of Foster Group, who has been instrumental in creating a platform for young and budding entrepreneurs from Kashmir to showcase their ideas, connect with industry leaders and explore opportunities for growth and collaboration.
EMERGE 2026 aimed to create new business opportunities, promote entrepreneurship and strengthen the emerging business ecosystem of J&K.
A key attraction of the event was a lucky draw sponsored by Arise Hyundai, with a car offered as the special prize. Aqsa Khan, a tourist from Chennai, was selected as the winner.
Speaking to the media, Omar Beigh, Managing Director, Arise Hyundai, said he was particularly pleased that the lucky draw coincided with World Tourism Day.
“It is especially heartening that on World Tourism Day, a tourist visiting Kashmir has won the lucky draw. We are very happy that Mrs Aqsa Khan from Chennai will be taking home a car as a memorable part of her visit to Kashmir. It is a wonderful coincidence and makes the occasion even more special,” he said.
Beigh said Arise Hyundai remained committed to supporting the people of Kashmir and encouraging young entrepreneurs.
“At Arise Hyundai, we always look forward to supporting the people of Kashmir and young entrepreneurs who have the courage to dream and the determination to turn those dreams into reality. We believe that initiatives like EMERGE provide an important platform for young people and businesses to connect, grow and take their ideas forward,” he said.
The organisers expressed gratitude to the Government of Gujarat, Government of J&K, Department of Tourism, Kashmir, University of Kashmir, participating businesses, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, visitors, performers, media organisations and other stakeholders for their support and participation.
The event concluded on a positive note, highlighting the role of entrepreneurship, tourism, innovation and collaboration in shaping Jammu & Kashmir’s emerging business ecosystem.
