Srinagar, Sep 20: A meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Legislature Party was held at the Banquet Hall here on Sunday under the chairmanship of party president Dr Farooq Abdullah, ahead of the autumn session of the J&K Legislative Assembly beginning tomorrow.
JKNC vice president and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended the meeting, while six Congress MLAs also joined the deliberations as part of preparations for the forthcoming session.
The legislators discussed the legislative business expected to come up during the session, along with various issues of public importance, including public welfare, development and governance.
Farooq Abdullah called upon the legislators to maintain close coordination and ensure that the concerns and aspirations of the people are effectively raised in the House.
He stressed the need for “constructive participation and focused engagement” on matters concerning the people, according to a statement issued after the meeting.
The members also discussed priorities to be taken up during the session and deliberated on issues related to public welfare, development and governance.
The meeting emphasized the importance of coordinated participation by the party legislators during the proceedings of the Assembly.
The autumn session of the J&K Legislative Assembly is scheduled to commence on Monday.
