Srinagar, Oct 29: Greenply Industries Limited, one of India’s leading interior infrastructure companies, has launched its laminate flooring range featuring High-Density Moisture-Resistant (HDMR) core technology, targeting moisture-related concerns associated with conventional laminate flooring.
Positioned in the mid-premium to premium segment, the new range combines wood-inspired designs with moisture resistance, easy installation and minimal maintenance. Greenply describes it as India’s first laminate wood flooring with an HDMR core.
The company said moisture was a major concern for wooden flooring in India, with changing weather conditions, excessive wet mopping, improper installation and inadequate subflooring potentially affecting durability and appearance.
The new flooring range has been designed for Indian climatic conditions, including areas experiencing high humidity and seasonal rainfall. It combines water-resistant and fire-resistant properties with antimicrobial and antibacterial features, according to the company.
The flooring also features an easy-to-clean surface and is designed to simplify routine maintenance. Greenply said an area of 1,000 square feet could be installed in approximately six to seven hours, without adhesive or curing time, subject to site conditions.
The collection offers several wood-inspired designs, including different oak varieties, lighter Nordic shades and darker wood finishes. It is available in classic plank, long plank and herringbone formats, with abrasion-resistance grades ranging from AC-3 to AC-5 and thicknesses between 8 mm and 12 mm.
The floating-floor installation system also allows the flooring to be dismantled and reinstalled, subject to installation conditions and product guidelines. Commenting on the launch, Sanidhya Mittal, Joint Managing Director of Greenply Industries Limited, said wood-inspired flooring was becoming an important element of contemporary interiors, but design needed to be matched by performance in everyday conditions.
He said the company’s HDMR-core laminate flooring combined contemporary designs with a greater focus on moisture resistance and the durability associated with the Greenply brand.
The company said the range was intended for residential spaces as well as commercial, hospitality and HORECA projects, offering an additional flooring option for homeowners, architects, interior designers and project developers.
For residential applications, warranty coverage against stains, fading, wear and tear ranges from 10 years to a lifetime, depending on the product grade. The AC-5 range carries a lifetime residential warranty, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
