HANDWARA, SEPT 18: Traffic violators came under intensified police action as Handwara Police launched a major crackdown across the district, seizing seven vehicles and challaning 17 others for flouting traffic regulations.

The enforcement operation was carried out through nakas established at Handwara, Kralgund, Vilgam, Magam, Chogul, Zachaldara and Qalamabad, with police teams conducting stringent checking of vehicles and acting against violations.

The crackdown forms part of a stepped-up road safety campaign aimed at deterring reckless and undisciplined driving, enforcing traffic rules and preventing practices that endanger the lives of commuters and pedestrians.

Police authorities have made it clear that traffic violations will invite strict action, with enforcement being intensified at vulnerable and busy locations across Police District Handwara.

The drive is aimed at bringing greater discipline on roads and ensuring that motorists comply with traffic regulations rather than putting other road users at risk.
