Srinagar, Oct 28: HK Hyundai unveiled the Hyundai BAYON at its showroom on Athwajan Bypass, Srinagar, with a starting price of ₹9,99,900 (ex-showroom).
Positioned as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle, the BAYON has been developed around Hyundai’s philosophy of “Intelligence That Moves”, combining connected technology, advanced safety features, comfort and performance.
Speaking at the launch, Umar Yaqoob Mir, Managing Director, HK Hyundai, said the new vehicle brings advanced technology and safety features to customers in Kashmir. He highlighted the BAYON’s artificial intelligence-powered voice assistant, which enables natural, conversational interactions, along with advanced driver assistance systems designed to enhance road safety.
Mir said the vehicle is manufactured in India and will be exported to more than 50 countries, reflecting the country’s growing role in global automobile manufacturing. He expressed confidence that its technology and connectivity features would appeal to customers seeking a modern and feature-rich vehicle.
Shabir Baba, General Manager, HK Hyundai, said the BAYON had been developed around five key pillars: Intelligence On, Safety On, Comfort On, Performance On and Style On. The vehicle features Hyundai Motor India’s first generative AI voice assistant, incorporating intelligence by Perplexity and voice AI powered by SoundHound AI. The system is designed to enable users to interact with the vehicle through natural conversations.
The BAYON also integrates structural safety engineering, driver assistance technologies and active and passive safety features. Its cabin has been designed to offer a spacious and refined experience, with a dual-tone black and olive grey interior, a cascade-flow centre console, premium leatherette seat upholstery and a soft-touch dashboard insert.
The vehicle’s styling features an upright stance, defined character lines and contemporary proportions, while its performance package combines Hyundai’s engineering with transmission technologies and driver-focused controls.
