NEW DELHI, SEPT 23: India’s Men’s Badminton Team secured a Bronze Medal at the Asian Games 2026 after a hard-fought campaign, adding another podium finish to the country’s medal tally.
The Indian contingent displayed determination and resilience throughout the team event, with the players putting up a strong fight against tough opposition.
The team’s campaign featured a blend of experienced international performers and emerging talents, underlining the depth of Indian badminton.
The medal-winning squad comprised Lakshya Sen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Ayush Shetty, HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth, Tharun Mannapalli, Dhruv Kapila, Hariharan A and MR Arjun.
Lakshya Sen and the doubles combination of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who are supported under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) Core Group, were among the key names in the Indian squad. Ayush Shetty is part of the TOPS Development Group.
The Indian players gave their all on court, combining experience, attacking play and fighting spirit to finish the team competition with a bronze medal.
The achievement further highlights India’s growing presence in Asian badminton and the emergence of a strong pool of players capable of competing at the highest level.
