The Centre for Career Counselling and Placements (3CP@IUST), in collaboration with the Department of Management Studies, organised a capacity-building workshop for MBA first-semester students at the Business Lab of the department on September 8.
Brand Consultant at Deloitte, Suhail Arif Bhat, was the expert speaker at the session, which focused on career opportunities in consulting and the wider corporate sector.
Bhat shared insights into industry expectations, essential professional skills, career planning and emerging opportunities, helping students understand the competencies required to navigate increasingly competitive career environments.
The interactive session also encouraged students to make informed career choices and better understand the skills and attributes sought by employers.
The programme was attended by Prof. Parvez Ahmad Mir, Dean, School of Business Studies; Dr Amir Dar, Head, Centre for Career Counselling and Placements (3CP@IUST); and Dr Asif Naqshbandi, Head, Department of Management Studies, besides faculty members and MBA students.
The workshop was part of the university’s efforts to enhance student employability and strengthen academia-industry linkages by facilitating interaction with industry professionals and exposing students to contemporary career pathways.
