Srinagar, Oct 2: Jio has announced a special Anniversary Offer on its JioBharat feature phones as part of its 10-year celebrations, offering eligible customers a 4G-enabled handset along with six months of connectivity benefits.

Under the limited-period offer, eligible JioBharat 4G phones are available for ₹1,499, bundled with six months of complimentary recharge benefits comprising 14GB of data per month and unlimited HD voice calling, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The offer is aimed at making the transition from 2G to 4G more affordable for feature-phone users and expanding access to digital services during the festive season. For users currently relying on 2G services, monthly recharges of around ₹199 can translate into connectivity expenditure of nearly ₹1,200 over six months. Under the Jio offer, customers receive a 4G-enabled JioBharat phone along with six months of connectivity benefits for ₹1,499.

Jio said this effectively brings the incremental cost of upgrading to the 4G device to ₹299 after accounting for the six months of connectivity benefits, although the actual saving depends on the customer’s existing recharge requirements and applicable offer terms. Beyond calling and messaging, JioBharat provides access to a range of digital services.

The handset supports entertainment services including JioTV, with access to more than 500 TV channels, as well as live cricket, movies and other entertainment content through JioHotstar and music services. For digital payments, the device supports UPI transactions through JioPay, along with payment alerts and Sound Box functionality.

The phone also comes with Jio Safety Shield features, including safe-calling functions and location-monitoring capabilities designed to help families remain connected. The JioBharat device features a 2.4-inch display, a 2,000mAh battery and 4G connectivity.

The company said the anniversary offer is intended to advance digital inclusion by enabling more feature-phone users to access mobile internet, digital payments, entertainment and other online services.

Jio said the offer is part of its broader effort to connect more Indians to the country’s digital ecosystem as it marks 10 years of operations.
