KISHTWAR, OCT 21: District Police Kishtwar on Wednesday paid solemn tribute to police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, observing National Police Commemoration Day with a ceremonial parade and a wreath-laying ceremony at District Police Lines Kishtwar.
The occasion served as a reminder of the courage, dedication and unwavering commitment of police personnel who laid down their lives while protecting the nation, maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
SSP Kishtwar Sunny Gupta, read out the names of police martyrs from across the country, paying homage to their unparalleled sacrifices in safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. The solemn observance highlighted the enduring legacy of the fallen heroes whose devotion to duty continues to inspire serving personnel.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, and SSP Sunny Gupta, accompanied by senior officers of the civil administration, police and security forces, retired police personnel, families of police martyrs and prominent citizens, laid floral tributes at the Martyrs’ Memorial at DPL Kishtwar.
The gathering paid its respects to the brave personnel whose sacrifices remain etched in the nation’s collective memory, reaffirming the enduring bond between the police force and the families who have borne the greatest personal loss in the service of the country.
In a significant gesture of solidarity, SSP Kishtwar Sunny Gupta subsequently interacted with the next of kin of the martyrs, listened to their grievances and concerns, and assured them of all possible assistance from District Police Kishtwar. He reiterated that the families of fallen personnel remain an integral part of the police fraternity and that their loved ones’ sacrifices will never be forgotten.
The programme concluded with the distribution of gifts among the martyrs’ families, followed by lunch.
