SRINAGAR, SEPT 13: The Meteorological Department has forecast brief spells of rain and thunderstorms at scattered to many places across Jammu and Kashmir from September 14 to 17, with weather activity expected mainly during the early morning and afternoon hours.

The weather system is also likely to bring gusty winds of 40–50 kmph, with wind speeds occasionally reaching around 60 kmph at isolated places, prompting residents and authorities to remain cautious, particularly in areas vulnerable to strong winds and sudden weather changes.

The MeT forecast indicates that the rain and thunderstorm activity is likely to remain intermittent, with brief spells expected rather than prolonged rainfall. People travelling during the affected period have been advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the weather is expected to improve thereafter, with generally dry conditions forecast across Jammu and Kashmir from September 18 to 23.

The anticipated spell of rain comes after a largely dry period in the region, and the improvement from September 18 is expected to bring relatively stable weather conditions across the Union Territory.

Residents are advised to follow official weather updates, particularly during periods of thunderstorms and strong winds, and exercise caution in exposed areas.
