JAMMU, SEPT 16: RS Pura Police has seized eight vehicles valued at around ₹80 lakh in connection with a case pertaining to cheating and allied offences, officials said.

The seizure was carried out during the course of investigation as police worked to establish the facts and circumstances surrounding the alleged fraud and secure property believed to be connected with the offence.

The vehicles seized include a Tata Punch bearing registration number JK12C-6661, two Scorpio vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02DK-2750 and JK02DP-8484, two Swift Dzire vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02CM-0666 and JK02CH-1119, a Bolero bearing registration number JK02DF-4147, a Honda City bearing registration number JK02BP-0067, and an XUV 300 bearing registration number JK02CX-7522.

Police said the vehicles were taken into custody in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure, with relevant seizure documentation prepared as part of the investigation.

Three accused persons have also been arrested in connection with the case, while further investigation is underway to ascertain the role of other persons who may be involved and to trace or recover any additional property linked to the alleged offence.

Officials further said that, subsequently, the seized vehicles were handed over to their lawful owners in compliance with the directions of the competent court.

Police reiterated that the investigation would be conducted in a fair, impartial and professional manner, with further legal action to be taken strictly in accordance with law.
