Srinagar, Oct 15: Srinagar Lok Sabha MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has hit out at a senior IAS officer in Jammu and Kashmir over his alleged conduct towards a woman Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officer, accusing him of threatening her career during an interaction in the presence of other officials.
In a post on X, Ruhullah alleged that the Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment, raised his voice against the woman officer after she sought to complete her statement.
The MP accused the senior officer of using his position to intimidate the woman officer and undermine her dignity. He also praised her for maintaining her composure and standing her ground despite the alleged behaviour.
Ruhullah linked the incident to the abrogation of Article 370, alleging that it reflected broader concerns about administrative conduct in Jammu and Kashmir.
He warned that any attempt to undermine the woman officer’s dignity would have consequences.
