LEH, SEPT 29: A two-day capacity building programme for teachers on the implementation of skill education for Classes VI to X commenced at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, on Tuesday.
The programme is being organised for principals of government and private schools and teachers involved in implementing Kaushal Bodh and Kaushal Vikas textbooks.
The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director (Skill Education), CBSE, and Tsering Paldan, Director of School Education, UT Ladakh.
Addressing the participants, the two Directors underlined the importance of integrating skill education with academic learning to promote the holistic development of students.
They stressed the need to equip students with practical skills and competencies to meet the challenges of contemporary society and improve their future career opportunities.
The programme, being held on September 29 and 30, will focus on strengthening teachers’ understanding of skill education and ensuring effective classroom implementation of the Kaushal Bodh and Kaushal Vikas textbooks.
During his visit, Dr. Biswajit Saha also visited NIELIT Leh, where a bootcamp on Artificial Intelligence, Digital Citizenship and Educational Technology is underway.
He interacted with participating students and encouraged them to develop relevant skills and make effective use of emerging technologies for learning and future career development.
