KATHUA, OCT 28: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua Mohita Sharma has ordered a fresh administrative reshuffle in the district police establishment, transferring and posting nine police officers, including two Inspectors designated as Station House Officers (SHOs) and seven Sub-Inspectors, with immediate effect.

The transfers and postings have been formalised through District Police Headquarters Kathua, issued in the interest of administration. The order covers several police stations, police posts and an outpost, bringing changes in station-level leadership, supervisory assignments and investigative responsibilities.

As part of the reshuffle, Inspector Waseem Raja, who was posted at District Police Lines (DPL), Kathua, has been appointed SHO of Police Station Malhar. Inspector Rajeev Sharma, also transferred from DPL Kathua, has been posted as SHO of Police Station Rajbagh. Their appointments mark the principal changes in police station leadership under the latest order.

At the level of police posts, Sub-Inspector Ishan Sharma has been transferred from Police Post Hatli and posted as In-charge of Police Post Marheen. Sub-Inspector Rahul Prashar, who was serving at Police Post Ramkot, has been shifted to Outpost Ghati as In-charge.

Sub-Inspector Subash Singh has been transferred from Police Station Rajbagh and posted as In-charge of Police Post Ramkot. In another significant change, Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar, previously posted at Outpost Ghati, has been assigned to Police Station Rajbagh as an Investigating Officer (I/O).

The reshuffle also affects Police Station Kathua and Police Post Jakhole. Sub-Inspector Naveet Anjum has been transferred from Police Station Kathua and appointed In-charge of Police Post Jakhole. Sub-Inspector Yudhveer Sharma, who was serving at Police Post Jakhole, has been shifted to Police Station Kathua.

Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Shiv Dutt has been transferred from Police Post Marheen and posted as In-charge of Police Post Hatli, completing the changes involving the nine officers.

The latest administrative exercise involves a series of interlinked postings across the district police network. While two Inspectors have been assigned charge of Police Stations Malhar and Rajbagh, the transfers of Sub-Inspectors redistribute responsibilities at Marheen, Ramkot, Ghati, Jakhole and Hatli. The posting of an Investigating Officer at Police Station Rajbagh also forms part of the changes outlined in the order.

The order directs all officers concerned to report to their new places of posting forthwith, indicating that the transfers are to be implemented without delay. It does not specify individual reasons for the postings beyond stating that the changes have been made in the interest of administration.

The reshuffle comes as part of the district police establishment’s administrative deployment process, with the latest order setting out revised assignments for officers across key police stations and subordinate units in Kathua district.
