KHALTSI, SEPT 12: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sham, along with SHO Police Station Khaltsi, conducted an extensive outreach visit to the Aryan Valley, visiting several remote and border villages to strengthen police-public engagement and take stock of issues confronting local residents.
The outreach commenced from the newly added village of Gurgurdo and covered Darchik, Garkone, Hanu and other villages along the border. The visiting team was accompanied by local religious and community leaders, officials from the Department of Forensics and other concerned departments.
During the visit, SSP Sham and the team interacted with village Numberdars, residents and local youth, listening to their grievances and discussing possible measures for addressing issues raised by the community.
The interaction also focused on opportunities available to local youth, particularly the upcoming Sub-Inspector and Constable recruitment drives in Ladakh Police. SSP Sham apprised aspiring candidates about the orientation programmes being organised by Sham Police to familiarise them with the recruitment process and assist them in preparing effectively for the selection process.
Encouraging the youth to actively pursue available career opportunities, the SSP stressed the importance of preparation, discipline and making full use of guidance and support available through police outreach initiatives.
The visit assumes significance as part of continued efforts to strengthen the police-public interface in remote and border areas, ensuring that residents have direct access to senior police officers and that their concerns are heard at the grassroots level.
SSP Sham reiterated the commitment of Sham Police towards responsive policing, community engagement and youth empowerment, assuring continued outreach and interaction with residents across the region.
The visit also reinforced the importance of sustained coordination between police, local communities and other stakeholders in addressing public concerns and strengthening trust and cooperation in the remote areas of Aryan Valley.
