Srinagar, Sep 17: Acting on orders from Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday attached 15 kanals of land and two residential houses in north Kashmir’s Kupwara belonging to “notorious terrorists” operating from Pakistan, officials said.
“Sh Nalin Prabhat, DG-P, has ordered the attachment of properties belonging to notorious terrorists, now operating from Pakistan,” a police spokesperson said in a press statement.
As per an order issued by DG-P Nalin Prabhat, 10.7 kanals of land and a three-storey residential house belonging to Ab Majid Qureshi, son of Ab Rouf Qureshi, a resident of Kachama, Kupwara, have been attached.
Another five kanals of land and a single-storey residential house were also attached. The properties belonged to Parvaiz Ahmad Qureshi, son of Mohd Mustafa Qureshi, a resident of Kachama, Kupwara, it said.
The order said that the attached properties fall within the ambit of “proceeds of terrorism” in terms of Section 2 (1) (g) (ii) of UAPA and are liable to be attached in FIR No. 276/22 of PS Kupwara.
