GANDERBAL, SEPT 28: Ganderbal Police launched a 16-team Volleyball Tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Government Higher Secondary School Gund, using the sporting platform to engage local youth and promote discipline, teamwork and healthy competition.
The tournament began with an exciting opening clash between Knight Hawks Gund and Spartan Satrina, with Knight Hawks Gund securing victory after a competitive encounter.
The inaugural event was attended by the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School Gund, SHO Police Station Gund and senior police officers, who interacted with the participating players and local youth.
Addressing the youngsters, police officers encouraged them to make sports and other constructive activities part of their routine and stressed the importance of staying away from drug addiction and other negative influences.
The tournament is part of Ganderbal Police’s continued outreach under the Civic Action Programme, aimed at creating meaningful avenues for youth engagement while strengthening interaction and trust between police and the local community.
Ganderbal Police said such sports initiatives will continue to be encouraged to provide young people with opportunities to develop their talent, fitness, discipline and competitive spirit.
