KATHUA, SEPT 25: The 19 JKAP IR organised a comprehensive Medical Training and Health Awareness Camp at Battalion Headquarters, Changran, Kathua, under the guidance of Atul Sharma (KPS), SSP/Commandant.
A specialised team from Government Medical College (GMC), Kathua, led by Dr. Anaitullah Ahmad Mir, Professor and Head, Department of Materia Medica, and Dr. Javid Iqbal Dar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physiology & Biochemistry, conducted the camp.
The medical experts carried out routine health check-ups of battalion personnel and provided counselling on preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices.
They also imparted hands-on training through live demonstrations on basic first aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emergency-response techniques, equipping personnel with essential life-saving skills for critical situations.
On their arrival, the visiting doctors were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation. Commandant Atul Sharma thanked the GMC Kathua team for providing valuable medical expertise and stressed that maintaining good physical health and having basic life-saving skills are particularly important for police personnel, who often serve as first responders during emergencies.
The camp concluded with a formal vote of thanks, reaffirming the battalion’s commitment to the health, welfare and emergency preparedness of its personnel.
