JAMMU, SEPT 17: Range Police Headquarters Jammu organised a specialised training programme on Social Media Management for police personnel from Jammu, Samba and Kathua, focusing on strengthening digital monitoring, information verification and intelligence-gathering capabilities.
The training covered social media monitoring, detection of misinformation and disinformation, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), fact-checking and digital content verification, besides emerging challenges related to cyber propaganda.
Participants were also trained in actionable intelligence generation, utilisation of various digital portals and tools, and effective inter-unit coordination and synergy, with the objective of enhancing the police response to emerging threats in the digital space.
The programme emphasised the need for timely identification and verification of online content and strengthened coordination among police units for effective information sharing and operational response.
