HANDWARA, SEPT 19: Handwara Police organised an awareness programme on the new criminal laws at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Langate, to familiarise students, teachers, staff and the general public with recent changes in the Indian legal framework.

The programme was chaired by the jurisdictional police officer and attended by teachers and students of the institution.

During the session, police officers explained key provisions and practical aspects of the newly enacted criminal laws, highlighting their implications and stressing the importance of understanding and complying with the updated legal framework.

The officers also emphasised the role of legal awareness in maintaining social order and encouraged students and members of the community to remain informed about their rights, duties and responsibilities under the new laws.

Participants appreciated the initiative and the efforts of Handwara Police to promote legal awareness among the public, particularly students.

Police said more such awareness programmes will be organised in the district to strengthen legal literacy, public awareness and community engagement.
