Chenab water level may rise 2–3 metres as Dulhasti Dam silt flushing begins

KISHTWAR, SEPT 19: Authorities have issued a public safety advisory ahead of the statutory periodic silt flushing of the Dul Dam Reservoir by Dulhasti Power Station, Kishtwar.

The flushing operation will be carried out from 12 midnight on September 20 to 12 midnight on September 21, during which the water level of the Chenab River may rise by 2–3 metres.

Residents living along or near the Chenab and adjoining water channels have been advised to exercise utmost caution and avoid approaching or entering the river or water channels during the operation.

The advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incident during the scheduled release and fluctuation in water levels.
