JAMMU, SEPT 19: Kanachak Police arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for nearly nine years.
The accused has been identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Lalyal, who was wanted in FIR Number 158/2017 under Sections 341/323 RPC registered at Police Station Kanachak.
A warrant under Section 512 Cr.P.C. had remained pending against the accused since 2017.
Acting on sustained efforts and specific inputs, the Kanachak Police team successfully traced the accused and took him into custody.
The arrest comes as part of the ongoing drive by Jammu Police to track down absconders and execute long-pending warrants against persons evading the process of law.
Kanachak Police reiterated its resolve to pursue absconders and ensure that those wanted in criminal cases are brought before the law, irrespective of how long they remain at large.
