BARAMULLA, SEPT 19: Traffic violators faced strict action during an evening naka checking conducted by Baramulla Police at Kutta Morh, with 13 vehicles seized for failure to produce valid or requisite documents and eight others challaned for various traffic violations.
During the checking, police seized 13 vehicles bearing registration numbers JK05P-5424, JK05Q-5545, JK02BG-9086, JK05L-6226, JK05H-7243, JK05E-0127, JK05D-3802, JK04J-9114, JK09A-9067, JK05K-7876, JK05P-6529, JK05Q-3025 and JK05B-9904 for want of valid documents.
Police also challaned eight vehicles bearing registration numbers JK05H-6426, JK05P-2574, JK05M-6208, JK05E-4262, JK05N-8911, JK05L-6009, JK05M-4510 and JK05P-7020 for various violations, including riding without helmets and driving without valid driving licences.
The crackdown was aimed at enforcing traffic regulations, improving road discipline and preventing violations that could endanger motorists, passengers and other road users.
Baramulla Police said strict enforcement against traffic violations would continue, urging motorists to carry all mandatory documents, wear helmets and comply with prescribed traffic rules.
Police also appealed to the public to cooperate with enforcement teams and contribute towards making roads safer across the district.
