JAMMU, SEPT 19: SP Rural Jammu directed Village Defence Guards (VDGs) to maintain heightened vigilance and strengthen coordination with Jammu Police during a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting held at Police Station Khour and Police Post Pallanwala.
The meeting was attended by SDPO Akhnoor, SHO Police Station Khour, VDGs, Panches, Sarpanches, prominent citizens, senior citizens and other members of the local community.
During the interaction, SP Rural Jammu stressed the crucial role of VDGs in strengthening the grassroots security network and directed them to remain alert, maintain regular communication with police personnel and immediately report any suspicious movement or activity noticed in their respective areas.
The SP also called for close coordination between VDGs, village representatives and the police to prevent crime and other unlawful activities and to ensure timely response to emerging security concerns.
Various public issues and grievances were raised during the meeting. The SP gave a patient hearing and directed the concerned officers to examine the issues and take necessary action in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Emphasising community participation in maintaining peace and security, SP Rural Jammu urged VDGs and local residents to remain vigilant and extend full cooperation to the police.
The participants assured Jammu Police of their continued support and cooperation in strengthening security and maintaining a peaceful environment across the area.
