ANANTNAG, SEPT 22: In a coordinated crackdown aimed at preventing the use of courier and logistics networks for drug trafficking, J&K Police Anantnag, in collaboration with the Drug Control Department and Crime Dog Squad, conducted raids at several courier, postal and logistics establishments across the district.
Teams from Police Station Bijbehara carried out searches at Bismillah Courier Office, Delivery Courier and Post Office, Bijbehara, while a team from Police Post Sangam conducted raids at VRL Logistics, Halmulla, and SafeExpress, Halmulla, Sangam.
The coordinated operation was undertaken as a preventive measure to detect and intercept any attempt to transport narcotic substances through courier, postal or logistics channels.
The involvement of the Crime Dog Squad was aimed at enhancing the search and detection capability of the teams during the inspections.
The exercise also focused on strengthening surveillance over commercial delivery networks and ensuring that courier and logistics establishments are not misused as conduits for the movement of illicit drugs.
Police said sustained and coordinated measures would continue against the drug menace and called upon courier operators, logistics companies and other stakeholders to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious consignments or activities to law-enforcement agencies.
